8 arrested in Agona Swedru for removing billboards of NPP candidate

Eight persons have been arrested by the Agona Swedru Police Command in the Central Region for allegedly removing the giant billboard of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Agona East Constituency, Hannah Asamoah and the Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Onua News’ Joseph Cobbina reports that the removal was supervised by the chiefs and elders in the Mankrong Junction area of Agona Swedru.

This, according to Joseph Cobbina, has created tension in the town. In the video which was shared, three men were seen digging up a huge billboard of Madam Asamaoh and Dr. Bawumia with pickaxe while some onlookers were standing bye.

An audio at the background of the video alleged that some members of the community claims the billboard is preventing development into the area.
