Dr. Mark Assibey-Yeboah, Chairman of the Economic Sub-Committee for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Manifesto, has commended the government’s Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy, emphasizing its transformative impact on students and families across the country.

He noted that Free SHS has significantly lifted the financial burden on parents and expanded access to education for many young Ghanaians, who, he claims, are now eager to support the NPP at the polls.

“People are happy, those who have enjoyed the Free SHS, are queuing up to vote for the NPP. You might take it for granted, these things mean a whole lot to people.”

In an interview on The Point of View with Bernard Avle on Channel One TV on Monday, November 11, Dr. Assibey-Yeboah countered criticisms suggesting that the NPP has underperformed since taking office in 2017.

He highlighted advancements in agriculture, social interventions, and other areas as evidence of the government’s commitment to delivering on its promises.

He further added that Members of Parliament often receive requests for help with school fees, and the Free SHS policy has been a relief, freeing up resources for families and reducing pressure on legislators.
